Awesome. But we can’t do this when the man is tying us down with a stupid cable! Now… drum roll please!!!… This dream is finally achievable at an affordable price!

MY YOUTUBE REVIEW VIDEO

1) AKG WMS 40 Mini Wireless Instrument System ($100)

My guitarist uses this system and it works wonders! The AKG wireless system is a great wireless system for the cheap price of only $100. This is a steal! Most wireless guitar systems go for over $200 easy so this is a sweet deal!

Pros:

  • Cheap as F&$%
  • Works great for the individual or other wireless systems

Cons:

  •  1 channel frequency, very likely to interfere with other frequencies. (ex: When using two AKG wireless systems together only one instrument will come through. However you could use this unit and the line 6 G30 multi channel unit together.
  • Your buddies may have to invest in a little more expensive unit like the Line 6 G30 to compensate with yours. This may not be a good investment in the long run.

2) Line 6 Relay G30 Wireless Guitar System ($200)

I just purchased this for my bass rig. This unit is fantastic to use in a group setting. If you’re playing in a band and most members use a wireless system, then this is the one you want!

Pros:

  • 6 Channels (multi channel capability! Everybody can have a wireless guitar party together)
  • 100ft plus distance
  • Safer choice

Cons:

  • Belt clip has bad reviews

How the Line 6 G30 Wireless Guitar System Works

Why I don’t recommend the alternative Line 6 G10 ($180)

  • Tons of bad reviews!
  • Usb charger breaks quickly
  • not multi-channel
  • enough said? Invest $20 more into the G30 mate! 🙂

Wrapping it up!

If You’re in the market for a wireless guitar system whether for yourself or a friend, both of these units are a great choice! I think the big questions are…

Rockstar or “rockstar”?

Who are you buying for?

1 person: If you’re buying it for the individual rocking out in the garage the AKG wireless system would be your best bet.

They’re in a band: If you’re buying for somebody who plays with multiple people who may also use wireless systems to play show I would recommend the Line 6 G30

How long will they use it?

1 person: If you’re buying it for the individual rocking out in the garage the AKG wireless system would be your best bet.

They’re in a band: If you’re buying for somebody who plays with multiple people who may also use wireless systems to play show I would recommend the Line 6 G30
